Excerpt from article:
"Nelson Mandela stood up against a great injustice," the former GOP presidential candidate told O’Reilly. “And he was willing to pay a huge price for that. And it’s for that reason he is mourned today, because of that struggle he performed. But what he was advocated for was not necessarily the right answer, but he was fighting against some great injustice.
"I would make the argument that we have a great injustice going on too, in this country, with an ever-increasing size of government that is taking over and controlling people’s lives, and Obamacare is front-and-center in that".
After reading this article, I had the sudden urge to throw my laptop across the room. So let me get this straight, Nelson Mandela fought to end the social injustices in South Africa, and that is equivalent to the GOP’s effort to deny millions of American health care. Rick Santorum truly has a warped sense of reality
This is truly disgusting. The Republican Party’s modis operandi of fearmongering and misinformation, taken to the extreme by the dishonoring and marginilazation of the life’s work and struggle of a truly great world leader, who we tragically lost barely 24 hours ago, all to push a political agenda, is sickening. Rick Santorum should be deeply ashamed of himself, and his constituents should be enraged.
